BOUQUET STYLES
| |
There's many names and terms for different bouquets. Listed below are the names I have seen used to describe these different styles of bouquets. This review is only to give an idea of what can be done and allow me to speak on the same page as the brides that I'm working with. As a side note, the cascading and hand-tied bouquets tend to be the most popular.

Cascading Bouquet
| |
A "cascading bouquet" is an arrangement of many flowers hanging down in one group forming a tear drop shape. I've also seen this referred to as a "tear drop bouquet". This is most commonly used for the bride.

Hand Tied Bouquet
| |
The "hand-tied bouquet" is a group of flowers tied together with ribbon. There are many varieties in bouquet appearance, but the constant factor is that this type of bouquet is hand-wrapped, or tied. This is the most popular style chosen among brides today.

Kissing Ball
| |
A "kissing ball" or "pomander" is a ball of flowers hung from ribbon or other material of some sort. This can be carried by any member of the wedding party, though most commonly, the flower girl. These are also used as decor, primarily on chairs or pews.

Round Bouquet
| |
A "round bouquet" or "ball shaped" bouquet is a circular bouquet that is designed using a holder for the flowers. This can be very similar to the hand-tied bouquet in appearance on the top of the bouquet. However, the stems are not seen at all, as a holder is used.

Presentation Bouquet
| |
I have also seen this type of bouquet referred to as a pageant bouquet, an overarm bouquet and an arm bouquet. This type of arrangement is held nestled in the arm as a bouquet of flowers. It is referred to as a pageant bouquet because many can relate to seeing a beauty pageant winner carrying her arm bouquet of flowers and wearing her tiara while on stage.

Other Unique Bouquets
| |
I have seen many different terms for bouquets that don't fit the normal descriptions of a typical bouquet. A "shower bouquet" or "spray bouquet" is a main bouquet with flowers trailing in all directions. A trailing bouquet is a bouquet with only a few flowers hanging down in one strand. A contemporary bouquet is unique and different in style, it doesn't necessarily look like the typical wedding floral arrangement. As long as it's physically possible, anything you dream up can be done, even if it's not a "typical" bouquet.
