Details by J.Lynn - Silk Floral Designs
|
| |
The name "Details by J.Lynn" is truly suiting. I feel I offer more than just standard designs. It's the small details that make all the difference. I pay close attention to the little things and my designs are sure to show it.

Flower Quality
|
| |
The flowers used in my arrangements have not typically been available in most local craft shops or department stores. However, as they become increasingly popular, I'm surprised to once in a while find a very nice quality flower at the craft store and I will not rule out using them! But, I'm very picky about quality and pay close attention to detail. Some typical flaws you will not come across in any flowers I use are thin and flimsy stems, petals that fray and fall apart, acryllic "dew drops", unevenly distributed and unnatural flower color, and flower heads lacking solid form and shape. It takes time and effort to find high quality artificial flowers, but I feel it's worth it and don't like to settle for less!
|
| |
I now use a mixture of high-end artificial floral in all designs. Any flower that I can find in "real touch" version is used first. Some of the less common flowers and smaller floral or fillers are not always available in "real touch". However, I am always careful to choose realistic, high quality products and always notify my clients if I feel there is a problem in locating top quality flower of choice. I have worked hard and spent a lot of time looking for wholesalers who carry the quality I want. Every arrangement that I create is a representation of what I sell. Therefore, I am careful about the quality of my product as well as the design.
|
| |
I am very confident in the quality of the products I use and stand behind my work 100%. I am happy to send a sample flower or toss bouquet so you can see for yourself before purchasing a complete set. If flower quality is a concern, I highly suggest asking for a sample from any vendor before purchasing. Especially, if the price seems to good to be true.

| |
The question has occasionally been asked if I will sell flowers to others in the permanent floral business or those wishing to create their own bouquets. Unfortunately, this is not something I do. I am in this for floral design, not to become another middle party in flower and supply sales. I only sell completed designs. I will, however, sell one single stem to potential clients wanting to verify quality. I will also sell stems to those puchasing a package from me and needing additional flowers to complete their special day. For example, stems for center pieces, cakes, to present to parents, etc...

The photos displayed throughout my website are all my designs. Over the years, the quality of my flowers has been significantly upgraded. However, I have included many photos from when I used "silk" flowers as I liked the design ideas and wanted people to be able to view a wide variety of my work. In viewing these, the difference is very obvious. Please note that I no longer use the lower quality "silk" flowers in my designs.

Design Quality
|
| |
My designs are all original and hand crafted with care. I run a small operation and therefore, I'm able to work directly with brides and other clients to create a look that reflects their personality and taste. I do not pay employees to design for me, nor do I mass produce. My work is creative, original and personal.

Substitutions
|
| |
Once in a while, the original flower desired is unavailable. This typically occurs due to low quality, seasonal issues, low inventory or color selection. In these circumstances, I may need to use alternative flowers. If this happens, I will always include my bride in the final decision making process. I will make sure that the quality and integrity of the original ideas are not comprimised, even if it is at my own expense.

*** NOTE: The terms "artificial", "silk", and "permanent" flowers are used interchangably throughout this website. All are terminology for flowers that are not real. The highest quality flowers today are truthfully not made of silk. However, the language has caught on and people can identify with it, so I still use it. ***

Flower Care
|
| |
Even though permanent botanicals are much less fragile than real flowers, proper care still needs to be taken. To avoid crushed flowers and mis-shaped bouquets, keep handling to a minimum and store in a covered and adequately sized location. The box they are mailed in works perfectly!
