I'm lucky to have a creative ability and an unbelievably keen sense of attention to detail. In fact, many who are close to me actually refer to it more as "obsessive compulsive" than just paying attention to detail. In any case, I have a knack for not missing the little things!
After designing the flowers for my own wedding, I really didn't want it to stop there. I had such a wonderful time and knew I could make the dreams of other brides come true just as I had done for myself! I fell in love with the idea of "silk" flowers and all of their benefits. Little did I know at the time, the artificial flowers that I used for my wedding were nothing compared to the quality of flowers I would find in the future.
I stayed busy for a few years helping my friends with their weddings. After that slowed down, I began having children and decided to open a daycare. I loved doing daycare and spending the days with my two young children. However, I really missed flowers and designing. That's when I decided to take the plunge and get back into it!
Right now I run this business part-time and do daycare full-time. I feel so lucky to have two "jobs" that I love so much. I look at both as more of a hobby than work and can't believe I'm lucky enough to make a living doing them. It is important to me to spend most of my time with daycare now while my children are young. However, I hope to eventually make flowers my full-time career. Right now, I'm just having fun, keeping it small enough to manage and building up a portfolio and reputation for the future!
